A KMDMP Concert with Judith Nemtanu Shapiro

Judit Nemtanu Shapiro, who performs with the Opéra National de Bordeaux, was one of the early participants in KMDMP, tackling some of the most complicated long-form pieces that appealed to her classical music background and sensibilities. Over the three years of the project to date, Judit has been an enthusiastic contributor and participant. In April 2023, she and Christina finally got to meet in person at the Fun Dor Tsu Dor festival at Chateau Ligoure, FR and were able to plan a solo recital concert based primarily on music from the Makonovetsky wedding manuscript, with a few pieces from elsewhere in the Kiselof materials.
The concert was a smashing success and Christina and Judit are looking forward to programming more concerts in the future.
We recorded this setting of the Ahava Rabbah prayer in the great synagogue of Bordeaux during our rehearsal the day before the concert.
