Talking About Embodied Music Practice, Using Industry Techniques, and Building Interdisciplinary Teams
Clara and Christina co-authored the concluding keynote address at the 2026 Music Encoding Conference in Tokyo. Our talk (titled “Start a Band to Build and Archive? The Klezmer Archive Project Between Industry, the Academy, and Scholar Practitioners”) allowed us to develop our thinking about the importance of embodied music practice in relation to the academy, and to draw on the experience of Klezmer Archive Project team members to make the case for interdisciplinary teams that bring together musicians, academics and industry specialists.
