HIAS — Hebrew Imigrant Aid Society in Ukraine

Originally established in 2001 to assist Jewish migrants emigrating from Ukraine to the United States, HIAS’ presence today is through a partnership with Right to Protection (R2P), an independent Ukrainian NGO based in Kyiv with offices across Ukraine

Independent journalism is always essential, but especially during a crisis. The Kyiv Independent is Ukraine’s English-language media outlet, created by journalists who were fired from the Kyiv Post for defending editorial independence.

United Help Ukraine Logo

A US-based non-profit founded by a small group of people who met at a protest against the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2014. The group distributes medical supplies, PPE, and Humanitarian aid through an established network of local organizations and US-based suppliers.

American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee

According to their website, JDC is on the ground, providing aid to those Jews remaining in Ukraine and the thousands of refugees who have fled to neighboring countries.

Building on the success of Yiddish New York’s 2021 Klezathon, Tsvelf is a 12-hr Yiddish Music and Spoken Word Concert held via Zoom featuring artists from around the world. The concert will feature klezmer, Yiddish song, poetry, and more, in an effort to raise funds for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.  The event is supported by the co-sponsors listed at the bottom of this page.

Eventbrite registration is free. Donations go directly to humanitarian NGOs.

The concert sponsors will not collect funds directly. Performers and sponsoring organizations are donating their time and art to this initiative. All attendees are encouraged to make a donation to one of the charities listed below, or to an organization of your choice to support humanitarian aid and recovery for Ukraine.
